RARRES2 / TIG2蛋白背景综述
 
Retinoic acid receptor responder protein 2, also known as RAR-responsive protein TIG2, Tazarotene-induced gene 2 protein, RARRES2 and TIG2, is a secreted protein. Retinoids exert biologic effects such as potent growth inhibitory and cell differentiation activities and are used in the treatment of hyperproliferative dermatological diseases. These effects are mediated by specific nuclear receptor proteins that are members of the steroid and thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of transcriptional regulators. RARRES1, RARRES2 and RARRES3 are genes whose expression is upregulated by the synthetic retinoid tazarotene. RARRES2 / TIG2 is thought to act as a cell surface receptor. RARRES2 / TIG2 is inhibited in psoriatic lesions. It is activated by tazarotene in skin rafts and in the epidermis of psoriatic lesions. RARRES2 / TIG2 is highly expressed in skin (basal and suprabasal layers of the epidermis, hair follicles and endothelial cells). RARRES2 / TIG2 is also found in pancreas, liver, spleen, prostate, ovary, small intestine and colon.
